Full description

We are looking for an experienced climate scientist to strengthen our research on climate prediction, climate impacts, and climate risk management.

We offer a permanent position as Senior Researcher (Forsker II) or Researcher (Forsker III), depending on experience, in the Climate Systems and Climate Services division of NORCE Research in Bergen, Norway. The place of work is Bergen, Norway.

The researcher will also be affiliated with the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research. The role involves conducting applied research using climate predictions, producing research documents and peer‑reviewed publications, disseminating research results, acquiring new funding and projects, and engaging with stakeholders.

Applicants must have a PhD in climate dynamics, meteorology, or a related field, research experience in relevant areas, a strong publication record, good programming skills (preferably in Python), and excellent written and spoken English.
